However after eating so many different type of food, I come to accept that the appeal of food is in its taste, not its look. So introducing, the Pork Belly Stew! Pempek Palembang – Fish Cake Dish from Indonesia

We’ve ordered some Pempek (or Empek-Empek) from a local catering service in Dallas. I’ve eaten this during my stay in Jakarta and I really enjoyed it. So what is Empek-Empek? Here is a snip taken from Wikipedia.

Pempek or Empek-Empek is a delicacy from Palembang which is made of fish and sago. Pempek is eaten together with a dark sauce called cuka or cuko (in bahasa Palembang). Cuko is produced from adding brown sugar, chili pepper, garlic, vinegar, and salt into hot boiling water.
