I had to bring us back into spicy food land once again. I just love it! A few nights ago, we had a green chili quiche for dinner and it was so yummy! Yes, we couldn’t find the right green chili peppers at the market and resorted to using a few serranos, which makes it extra spicy, but it was still delicious.

You can make modifications to this dish, if you’d like. For instance, you could cut back a bit on the onions and add bacon, use different peppers, cheese types, etc. But the fundamentals of this dish are yummy, making it a great foundation to build your next quiche masterpiece!

Broccoli Quiche

I’m not fan of broccoli, but this Broccoli Quiche recipe is super yummy. Not only is it simple, it’s tasty and pretty quick to put together, too.

I’ve found in the past that quiche can end up underdone on the inside, but this one came out perfect, fluffy and thoroughly buttery. Just make sure you get the right size of pie crust, or else it will overfill and that’s not something you want to clean up out of your oven.

Ingredients

2 tablespoons butter
1 onion, minced
1 teaspoon minced garlic
2 cups chopped fresh broccoli
1 (9 inch) unbaked pie crust
1 1/2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
4 eggs, well beaten
1 1/2 cups milk
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
1 tablespoon butter, melted

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
  2. Over medium-low heat melt butter in a large saucepan. Add onions, garlic and broccoli. Cook slowly, stirring occasionally until the vegetables are soft. Spoon vegetables into crust and sprinkle with cheese.
  3. Combine eggs and milk. Season with salt and pepper. Stir in melted butter. Pour egg mixture over vegetables and cheese.
  4. Bake in preheated oven for 30 minutes, or until center has set.

If you’re in the mood for something delicious and unconventional, you should definitely give this recipe a try. Spaghetti Carbonara is an interesting mix of traditional Italian dinner and breakfast. Yes, you heard me right.

By including eggs and bacon in with the noodles, you’ll experience an almost buttery texture that can only be described as delicious. The touch of garlic and onion further add to the flavors.

Check out the full recipe after the jump.
