When they say “don’t judge a book by its cover”, they were right. I was very picky when it comes to food appearance, and I bet many of you does that too. However after eating so many different type of food, I come to accept that the appeal of food is in its taste, not its look. So introducing, the Pork Belly Stew! It might not look very appealing but it sure taste great.

Satsuki cooked the Pork Belly Stew and it takes a really long time to cook – around 7 hours. I first ate this dish in Johor Malaysia and I remember saying to my friend that the pork belly dish is way better than any stew I’ve had anywhere (no offense Mom – I know you claimed that your beef stew is the best).
It is usually served on a hot clay pot and eaten with white rice or wrapped inside steam Mantou (Chinese bun). If you Google pork belly recipe, you will find many of them with different variety of ingredients requirement, but I found one that is similar to Satsuki’s.
